City of Leander Development Review

Assisting the City of Leander with Development Processes

Project Purpose

Central Texas cities have been experiencing rapid development including commercial and residential properties. Leander has seen an increase in permit submittals. KFA augmented city engineering staff for development reviews throughout the city. On behalf of the city, KFA has reviewed traffic impact analyses, drainage reports, concept plans, preliminary plats, site development plans, and subdivision plans. Reviews were assigned to KFA as city staff workload dictated it and as special expertise was required. KFA reviewed the developments against the city’s codes, ordinances, and standards, providing comments to the applicants and meeting with them as necessary.

Project Approach

KFA attended development review meetings with city staff and developers as needed, expedited reviews as-needed to turn them around within the time frame required by the city and provided a detailed analysis of drainage reports/models and traffic impact studies.

Project Results

By maintaining a consistent review process, KFA met schedules and provided a detailed review of the developments to ensure conformance with city standards as well as absorbed peaks in development reviews in this fast-growing city.
