Project Purpose
Central Texas cities are currently experiencing rapid development including commercial and residential properties. West Lake Hills has seen an influx in permits, specifically in residential redevelopment. With the increase in permits, KFA was contracted to assist the city in reviews including developing guidance for submittals and performing detailed engineering reviews to ensure consistent designs throughout the city.
Project Approach
KFA is taking an active role by reviewing the submittals for drainage and transportation components but also providing input on the elements of the submittals. In addition, KFA is providing general engineering support including traffic speed studies, roadway reconstruction, and drainage improvements as well as assisting the city with code revisions. KFA is working directly with the city to provide feedback in a timely manner, utilizing the appropriate individuals. The biggest challenges include the size and geography of the property and the redevelopment process.
