KFA to Support Major Expansion Program at the Austin Airport

AUSTIN (2021) – KFA has been selected as part of the HNTB Principal Architect/Engineer team to support the Austin airport (AUS) with its major expansion program. The expansion will follow recommendations of the airport’s 2040 Master Plan, including adding a new concourse, a tunnel connection to the new concourse, and expanding airfield and land side infrastructure to meet the tremendous growth in Central Texas.

KFA’s Aviation Practice Leader Dale Murphy will serve as Deputy Program Manager over civil work for the program. KFA will provide planning and preliminary design services for all drainage, water quality, and water/wastewater work, and will assist with airfield and land side improvements. We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with AUS and to be a key part of this transformational expansion program.

“We are absolutely ecstatic to have the opportunity to serve AUS on this large and vital program to expand the airport to meet the tremendous growth of Central Texas. Our extensive experience with AUS, the City of Austin, and with HNTB has allowed us to provide key roles on the team and we can’t wait to get started!” shares Aviation Practice Leader Dale Murphy.
