Taxiway A Extension Project at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Opens

On July 9th at 5:40 PM, the Taxiway A Extension project at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport was opened to air traffic! Air Canada’s flight to Toronto was the first plane to use the new pavement. This $7 million project makes Taxiway A into a full length parallel taxiway to Runway 17L/35R, increasing the capacity of this runway system. KFA was proud to support the City of Austin on this project. We performed a large portion of the civil and drainage design, permitting, and the construction management/inspection of the project.
