K Friese + Associates (KFA) is a key team member of the Atkins team on the General Engineering Services for Disaster Mitigation for Wastewater Facilities Induced by Hurricane Harvey project for the City of Houston (City). Houston-based KFA team members Trent Slovak, PE, BCEE, and Sheldon Buck, PE, ENV SP, are serving as Technical Advisors for this critical effort that provides overall technical oversight and project management services for four consultant teams completing disaster mitigation facility packages in major wastewater service areas throughout the City.
KFA’s roles include creating standardized templates, guidelines, standards, and specifications used by the four consultant teams; reviewing proposed mitigation measure alternatives for wastewater lift stations and treatment plants; and developing claim documentation for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Program funding. This milestone project will position the City to mitigate against future hazards and enhance the overall resilience and sustainability of its wastewater infrastructure.
