HOUSTON (November 19, 2020) K Friese + Associates (KFA) is proud to announce its most recent expansion, establishing its Southeast Texas office and adding local team members. Now with nearly 80 employees firmwide, this is KFA’s fourth location, extending its current reach in Central and South Texas to the Gulf Coast. The office is being led by Trent Slovak, PE, BCEE (pictured above), who recently joined KFA and has now assumed the role of Director of Engineering, Southeast Texas. With more than 35 years of civil and environmental engineering experience serving clients within and beyond Houston, Trent has the knowledge and commitment to lead complex water and wastewater projects and our growing Southeast location. Trent’s expertise in facility and process planning, performance and condition assessments, and treatment process design, increases KFA’s robust portfolio of service capabilities.

In addition, KFA is pleased to welcome Sheldon Buck, PE, ENV SP, as a Senior Project Manager in the Southeast Texas office. With a 15-year history working with Trent and more than 22 years of experience with all aspects of water treatment, wastewater treatment, and pump stations, Sheldon is a strong addition to the team. His experience includes master planning, design, permitting, construction administration, start up and commissioning.
It may seem surprising that the firm is establishing a new office during a time when many KFA team members continue to work from home. We’re doing so because we recognize the continued importance of being present in the communities we serve, particularly since our clients are essential and the support they provide is more important than ever. That’s why we’ll continue to protect the health and safety of our employees while they balance the unprecedented demands of work and life amid a global pandemic, but we also won’t lose sight of the long-term needs of our clients and communities. We continue to do that in all the regions where our clients count on us now; and will as we get to know the Gulf Coast community even better.
