Civil Engineer, Transportation Drainage Project Manager

K Friese + Associates (KFA) is looking for an experienced Transportation Drainage Civil Engineer and Project Manager with 5 to 10 years of experience to work from either our Austin, San Antonio, or Round Rock Office.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Transportation Drainage Civil Engineer and Project Manager with 5 to 10 years of experience to work from either our Austin, San Antonio, or Round Rock Office. The primary responsibilities for this position include taking on full responsibility for multiple TxDOT drainage design and analysis projects, working in coordination with senior staff and managing technical staff to produce quality designs and plans and interpreting plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.), and participating in TxDOT drainage related marketing and proposal efforts. Project Management responsibilities including task, budget and schedule management, as well as frequent client interaction. Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Texas PE license or ability to obtain a Texas PE license within 6 months of hire
  • TxDOT Precertifications 4.1.1, 4.2.1, 4.3.1 at a minimum
  • 5 to 10 years of experience with TxDOT or other DOT/County drainage engineering design and plan production
  • Experience in MicroStation and GEOPAK
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working directly with clients and other engineering consultants
  • Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team at others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TCEQ water quality design experience
  • GIS experience
  • Experience with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS
  • Familiarity with 2D modeling such as ICM or SWMM
