Position Summary

KFA is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to perform design activities on public transportation, drainage, water and wastewater projects.

The primary responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Performing civil engineering design calculations, detailing and plan set production for transportation, drainage, water and wastewater projects
  • Working under the supervision of senior staff to produce quality designs and plans and interpret plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.)


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Entry level to 2 years of experience in civil engineering design and plan production
  • Working knowledge of either AutoCAD or MicroStation CAD platforms. GEOPAK and HEC-RAS experience a plus
  • Must possess an EIT certification, or have the ability to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam within six months of hire
  • The ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
